Communication

Our school recognises the importance of a positive parent/staff relationship.

We encourage:

• developing a sense of belonging to the preschool for the children, parents and staff.

Important notices are communicated via email, the Duffy Newsletter, through the announcements section in Seesaw and the Duffy Primary School Facebook page.

Seesaw

The unit overview, a summary of intended learning, is posted at the beginning of the learning of each unit on Seesaw. Parents can expect to receive a post of student learning/achievement via Seesaw in addition to photos of day to day activities that student’s post themselves. In addition, the collaborative reflection of student learning is displayed on the noticeboards outside the classrooms.

Along with the sharing of class and individual students learning on Seesaw, important notices about what’s happening within the school, reminders, school events and community news are communicated via the announcements section to parents/carers.

Newsletter

A Duffy Newsletter with information about what is happening in the school and the community is published and emailed out to Parents/Carers on Thursday of Week 3, Week 6 and Week 9 each term.

Facebook

Our Facebook page - Duffy Primary School - provides posts about important events, student learning, messages and general information for families of students at Duffy Primary School. Please click the 'Like' button on our Facebook page to keep up to date with the latest information.

P&C Meetings

Parents and Citizens (P&C) meetings are held throughout the term for your input and feedback. These are advertised on the school calendar and in the school newsletter. The school P&C also has a Facebook page and a website for more information.

Communication with Classroom Teacher

Teachers appreciate the opportunity to talk with parents and carers both informally and in formal situations. Parent Teacher Interviews will be held once a semester during your child’s school year. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask for an appointment to meet with the teacher at any time throughout the year.
